Submit Your Class/ Teaching Proposal

Thank you for your interest in teaching with us. Please fill out the form below for your class proposal.

Some things to note:

1. We strive to offer a diverse class list, covering varied topics and techniques. We try not to repeat any classes that are taught at other large area shows (close to where our show is) like the Mancuso, Original Sewing or AQS shows. It just helps everyone to not have a lot of the same classes being taught in a similar area. Please keep this in mind if you teach at other shows.

2. After a lot of feedback from students, we will be focusing on half day classes this next year. We had a difficult time filing some of the full day classes. If you feel your class needs a full day, you can still submit it. We will try and fit a few full day classes in. Our half day classes are 3 hours and run either 9am-noon or 1pm-4pm. We are unable to offer after-hours classes.

3. Some things to consider- our students tend to be beginner to intermediate, although we do have some students interested in more advanced projects. Technique classes do well, and students prefer a class that is project-based, so that they come away with something tangible. Obviously in a half day class you're not finishing a whole quilt, but students seemed happier if they could finish a block in class, or at least feel confident enough to finish the piece at home. Kit fees are fine, but we do notice classes with higher cost kits, especially ones that use rulers that are specific to this project only, don't do well, in the same comments we heard that students appreciated if there were specific items on a supply list that they were either kitted or available for purchase in class. Our students do tend to be more budget-conscious, and we've noticed classes that utilize scraps or small cuts of fabric do very well. Classes of all varieties from traditional to modern, mixed media to wholecloth are well attended! For machine classes, we do have sewing machines provided in the classroom.

4. We offer one-hour lecture slots, so feel free to submit for a lecture as well. Our budget for lectures is not very large as we offer the lectures for free, but if you are also teaching I can usually make up the cost of a lecture with the class fees.

5. Please Note: We do not reimburse for travel as a separate expense, so be sure to roll in travel, hotel etc to your class fee. You can request either a flat fee or a per-student fee. We limit the classes to 24 students, but can adjust that number if needed. You can charge a separate kit fee and either have us collect it, or choose to collect it in class.
