Shannon Arnstein
Teaching: Strawberries and Cream, Breeze on the Bayou, Legacy of Love and Lace
Shannon was recently published in Better Homes and Garden“Quilts & More” spring edition magazine – January 2020, American Patchwork and Quilting April 2021, Love of Quilting September/October 2021, and McCall’s Quilting March/April 2022. She is extremely creative, vibrant, and enjoys the colorful world around her! She has a gift for choosing colors, arranging patterns, and designing quilts. She is an engaging public speaker and has the ability to lead workshops. She enjoys looking at intricate quilts and then “reconstructing” the quilt in her mind to process how it all came together. Her husband says she has a “puzzle brain.” She also likes how quilts are soft and comforting, or they can be used as an art piece to hang on the wall. Shannon feels at peace when she is quilting. All she needs to do is take “needle to fabric”, and she is relaxed from all the stresses in life. In 2014, she was hired by RJR Fabrics as a sample maker which was a springboard for her commercial work. Shannon loves the fast-pace challenges of commercial work, and making sure patterns and instructions are correct. In addition to RJR Fabrics she also works for Windham Fabrics, FreeSpirit, Michael Miller, and Craftsy/Bluprint. She enjoys seeing her work in print advertising, websites, and social media. Combining all her experience and creative work, she has advanced into a cutting-edge pattern tester and pattern designer.
Shannon is an “on-the-go” mom who feels privileged and honored to be a part of the quilting world!

Betsy Bauman
Teaching: Circle Around, Little Birds, Lecture: Quilters Quizzer , Lecture: 25 Tips and Tricks
Betsy Bauman is a teacher and artist whose love of fabric, drama and history led her to the theatre and a career as a costume designer. She brings her knowledge of fashion history and sewing construction together with her sense of color, line, and shape to help the actors tell a story that will express something universal about what it means to be human. These are the same things that draw her to working as a quilt artist. “I am inspired by the history and tradition of quilting, and I collect antique quilts to study and to enjoy. This respect for the past is the springboard for the quilts I make. Although I use the same basic structure as quilters from the past, I am not trying to decorate a bed or provide warmth, but rather I seek to tell a story or express an idea. My quilts are playful and whimsical, and I think viewers will see my theatrical background in them, as well.” Betsy began making quilts in 2000, and since then her quilts have been juried into national exhibitions such as the American Quilter’s Society shows at Paducah, Lancaster, and Grand Rapids, Quilt Odyssey in Hershey, PA, as well as shows in Vermont and Indiana, and locally at Lake Farm Park, the Rocky River Reflections of Nature Shows, and Mutton Hill in Akron. She also lectures on Quilt History and other quilt-related topics. Bauman serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at Hiram College, where she has been teaching since 1998. She holds an M.F.A. in Design from Kent State University, an M.A. in Theatre from The University of Akron, and a B.A. in Theatre from SUNY Brockport.

Julie Belin
Teaching: Quiltworx: Chromatic Charms, Legit Kits: Mini Birds, Poinsettia Tabletopper, Shorter Taller Tree, Quiltworx: Haystack Cookies
Julie Belin’s quilting career began more than 30 years ago after receiving a quilt as a
wedding gift. When her husband challenged “you could make that” the journey began.
Although originally a self-taught quilter, her careers of engineer and high school math
teacher fueled her passion for precision piecing. She’s always on the lookout for
efficient methods and tools to do just that.
Wanting to share quilting tips and techniques with others, she became a certified quilt
instructor for Studio 180 Design and Sew Kind of Wonderful and is pursuing the same
for Quiltworx. These certifications have opened the door for her to share her
enthusiasm for quilting tools and techniques across the country with workshops and
lectures at guilds, retreats and quilt shows. She loves seeing the excitement of her
students as they master the tools.
When Julie isn’t teaching or lecturing, you can find her busy with her many guilds
planning events, quilting for charity, long-arming for her business or maybe even
playing in her garden.

Tonya Dunning
Teaching: Quilting for a Purpose: Fidget Quilts for Alzheimers, Autism and more
Hi, I’m Tonya. I have been sewing and quilting most of my life. I am the primary worker here at Memory Barn Studio, but my family is a huge support with ideas and encouragement.
My goal is to spread the word about fidget quilts in order to help patients who might need them. This is a special project for me. I discovered Fidget Quilts when my mom was diagnosed with Dementia. This is my way of honoring her memory--by helping others in a similar situation.
I also want you to experience the joy of owning your own T-shirt quilt that I have seen others have. These truly are one of a kind and a treasured family keepsake.
I am very excited to share that I have completed the Quilters Candy Pattern Writing Course, which has given me the tools to write the patterns for the fidget quilts.

Kellie Gedert
Teaching: Cyanotypes on Fabric, Traditional Cyanotypes on Paper
The color blue speaks to my soul.
Cyanotypes are one of the first forms of sun-print photography and, in my opinion, the most magical. Cyanotypes ask us to pause and look closer at those everyday things differently and up close, capturing those finite little details. I enjoy working with cyanotypes, mixed mediums and found materials, I often say my spirit animal is a raccoon. I am an artist, wife, mother, teacher, and nature lover who is always creative at heart. Our family loves to hike & adventure or hangout & create together.
