Earn your Doctorate in Threaducation!

Have you ever said, "My machine doesn't like that thread?" or "I can only quilt with XYZ thread?" Then this is the workshop for you to learn about different weights of thread for quilting. Education is key, and Sarah will explain the uses and finished effects of different thread weights, as well as cotton, metallic, water-soluble, and monofilament fibers, in this hands-on workshop. Sarah also covers thread basics, including information on weight and ply, spool positioning, needle recommendations, and tension settings. She will offer helpful tips and tricks, then share projects and photos aimed to inspire and expand your use of threads. By the end of class, you'll earn your PhD in threaducation! The skills taught in this workshop are transferable to your home domestic sewing machine. One student per machine: BERNINA Q Series machines provided. The BERNINA Q-Series are sit down longarm machines. They will be provided by BERNINA/ Hinkletown Sewing Center. The Q-series machines are technically "longarm" machines placed onto a stationary tabletop; therefore, this class is ideal for the domestic machine quilter, midarm quilter, and standup longarm quilter.

$50 - includes handouts, multiple thread spools to take home/numerous needle sizes to take home/handout/fabric/batting- kit fee has been added to your ticket total below.

Additional pre-printed practice fabric panels and notions will be available if you wish to plan ahead
