Star Shadows

Project size: 38" x 40"

Create the illusion of starts floating over the surface of a quilt and casting shadows below. The use of the No Nudge fast flying geese technique with a Studio 180 Wing Clipper 1 tool makes this 38” x 40” wall hanging quick and easy to make. Instructions are also provided in the pattern for making larger size versions. Please note: the fabric requirements and cutting instructions have been changed from the original pattern to reflect the use of the “No Nudge” technique.

Class Supplies Needed: 

• Invisi-Grip recommended for back of tools

• 6” x 12” and/or 6” x 24” Ruler

• Cutting Mat & Rotary Cutter (with new blade)

• Fabric pre-cut for class – see cutting instructions

• General sewing kit – scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc.

•Erasable Fabric Marker

Kit Options: *kit fee is required with ticket purchase. Choose pattern only or pattern + wing clipper

-Pattern is required- $13

-Wing Clipper 1 ($33) is also required, but as some students may already own this, it is offered as an optional add on.

-A Quilter’s Magic Wand ($9) is suggested but not required.

Fabric Requirements: See handout below for fabric requirements and cutting instructions. We are only cutting what is necessary for class. Additional cutting will be required to complete the quilt.
