Ever wonder what to do with those Circle or Oval Machine Quilting templates/rulers? Many instructors recommend circles for a first template, but WHY? Join Patricia as she shows you how to create block designs, border designs, and so much more. Discover the amazing versatility of circles and ovals as well as the bounty of designs to be created. Learn techniques to move templates/rulers to create stunning yet simple designs. Learn how to make your own waves. Find out the difference between working on the inside vs. working on the outside. Kit Fee: $0 (Quilter’s Rule provides the templates for use in class. Students have the option to purchase the templates for a discount after all classes have been taught at a show)

Supplies needed

8-10 fabric sandwiches approximately 10”- 14” square (please do not pin baste sandwiches nor use thick batting)

Fabric Marking tool

Contrasting thread to the fabric sandwiches (50 wt cotton thread would be preferred)

8 point stencil grid (will have some for use in class) or rulers for marking guidelines

Supplies suggested but not necessary:

A slider to use on the machine table (super slider, Sew Slip, Glider, or other item to ease fabric moving on your table)

Quilting Gloves if you find them helpful in free motion quilting

Notebook or artbook for notes (colored pencils might be nice, but not necessary). Some students like to draw out designs/movement methods, other like to take photographs

Sewing Machines will be generously provided for students from Bernina/ Hinkletown Sewing Center

 Irons, Rotary cutters and mats will be provided.
