About the event
Learn how to stitch a bowl with ordinary cotton clothesline rope using the zig zag stitch on a sewing machine. You’ll learn the basics of rope bowl making, and then you can make any size or shape you wish!
Sewing Machines will be generously provided for students by Bernina/ Hinkletown Sewing Center
No Kit Fee
Supplies Needed:
Cotton Clothesline Rope: 100% cotton clothesline rope, 3/16” in diameter. I’ve found The Gypsy Quilter’s brand to be the perfect option and reasonably priced. One hank of 100 feet should be sufficient for class, but I’m sure you’ll be buying more!
Basic Sewing Kit:
-Fabric shears strong enough to cut through rope
-Thread snips or small scissors
-Seam ripper
-Long straight pins
Thread:
-Aurifil 50 wt thread (Choose an off white if you don’t want your stitches to show, or select a contrasting color.)
Optional Supplies:
-Elmers washable purple glue stick
-Strips of fabric ¼” – ½” wide
