Quilt Binding Using Hand and Machine (REGISTRATION CLOSED)

The Quilt Binding By Hand class walks students through the steps of making and attaching quilt binding to a quilt. Students will bring pre-cut strips of fabric and enjoy the use of a binding machine that will do all the ironing for them! Then students will attach the binding to their quilt, by machine for the front side and then finishing the back side by hand. This class is excellent for anyone who needs a little help in making their binding more precise and clean!

Kit Fee: $37 for the optional kit, purchased in class

Additional Supplies the student will need:

• Quilt of any size (quilted and trimmed but not bound)
• Strips of binding fabric cut at 2 ½ inches wide, at the appropriate length for the quilt, sewn end-to-end to create one log strip
• Thread matching the binding fabric or backing fabric
• Clover clips (included in optional kit)
• Small scissors (included in optional kit - Tula snips!)
• Hand-sewing needle (included in optional kit)
• Sewing gauge or other small ruler (included in optional kit)
