Since there have been quilters, we have been making quilts for causes. The causes might be small and personal such as raising money for a family in need. The cause might be national and urgent such as calling attention to the issues facing the country. We make quilts to memorialize, honor, and make our opinions known. This talk covers such issues as abolition, temperance, suffrage, and honoring those who served our country.
