Lecture: Bringing Quilting to the Next Generation

Rachel Rossi has been sewing for over 25 years and gone from sewing scraps by hand under her mom's kitchen table to creating quilting and sewing patterns, and now fabric! Along the way she has inspired and taught others of all ages and skill levels about this important tradition. In this 1 hour lecture she will discuss not only why we should be working hard to keep our tradition alive but how we can work towards preservation through innovation. You'll get to see her early work, explore how she is teaching her own children to quilt, and she'll cover topics such as: how to inspire others, when (and how) to teach children to sew, and how to help our peers dive into the wide world of quilting. There will be a short question and answer time after the lecture.
