Combine scrap piecing with improv and a modified quilt-as -you -go method to create these fun placemats ! Once you learn the technique, you can easily expand into making larger projects. This is a great way to use your pile of scraps, and these placemats look great whether your fabrics are randomly selected or centered around a holiday, color, or fabric collection.

No Kit Fee! Pattern is included in the price of the class

Sewing Machines will be generously provided for students from BERNINA/ Chestnut Ridge Sewing

Shared Irons, Rotary cutters and mats will be provided.

Other Supplies Needed – please be sure to label all your supplies with your name

Funhouse pattern – provided in class

• Fabric (please refer to cutting instructions in file below

• Thread for quilting – neutral color is provided and there will be a variety of threads from which to choose in class, but if you want to try and match your quilting to your fabrics (especially your backing), please bring thread accordingly.

• Straight Pins Scissors/Thread Snips/Seam Ripper (you never know)

• Marking Tools for marking quilting lines - I like to use a Hera marker or a chalk marker

• Rotary Cutting Supplies Rulers - Long ruler (at least 18” long) and small ruler (at least 6” long) will be helpful I will have a variety of rulers in the classroom, but not enough for everyone to have their own

• Cutting Mats – there will be some in the classroom, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own Rotary Cutters – there will be some in the classroom, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own

• Pen, pencil and paper for taking notes
