About the event

Threadology, a thread education talk, will teach students about different types of threads and their uses, and how to use them effectively. The session will cover the history of thread, types of threads, thread construction, thread tension, thread weight, and the different materials used in thread manufacturing. Students will learn about the different types of thread available, including cotton, silk, polyester, and nylon, and how to choose the right thread for a specific project. They will also learn how to properly adjust the tension, and how to troubleshoot common problems that can occur when using thread. How to select the appropriate thread color and weight. By the end of the thread education talk, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the role of thread in sewing, as well as the techniques necessary to use thread effectively in their own projects. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create high-quality textile-based items that are both beautiful and durable.
