Add to your appliqué skills by using the blind stitch, running stitch and blanket stitch, to create this adaptation of an 1889 folk art bird and flowering vine. Half day. All levels.
NO KIT FEE
Supply list:
14" square for background.
6" squares of fabrics for bird, flowers, and leaves, plus two bias strips 1" x 13" for branches.
Original quilt was made in solid colored fabrics in antique red, indigo blue, golden yellow and olive green on muslin. Choose fabrics to suit yourself - perhaps dark plaids for a country look or new clear pastels.
Sewing threads and embroidery floss to match all fabric colors, plus off-white.
6" square of fusible appliqué web.
Template material - freezer paper or plastic.
Basic sewing supplies.
