English Paper Piecing Design Party (VT)

Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing while completing a project that is uniquely yours. We’ll be working with shapes based on 60° angles: hexagons, diamonds, jewels, triangles and more. Learn about the geometry and supplies specific to EPP. Instruction will include fussy cutting with Tina’s Wonder Window technique, basting, hand stitching and more as time permits. Class handout will include instructions for finishing a single block mug mat or a multiple block table runner. Suitable for beginners, this class will also engage experienced stitchers.

Kit Fee-$10 kit per student includes printed handouts and template pages

Supplies Needed:

Fabric: assorted scraps, charm squares, fat eighths or fat quarters. Bring at least 4 coordinating fabrics in a variety of values and scale. Consider medium-scale prints and stripes for fussy cutting. Additional fabric and batting will be needed after class to complete your project.

Fabric glue pen and refills, any brand.

Needles : Straw or Milliner size 9, 10 or 11

Thin thread  in a neutral color such as Superior Bottom Line, Wonderfill Invisible, or Aurifill 80wt cotton

Fabric scissors

Thimble of your choice

Optional: paper tape, wonder clips, sew tite magnets
