Circle Around -NE Ohio

Circles are going around! This class will teach students 4 different ways of appliqueing and/or piecing circles into a quilt. This is a wonderful way to use those great fabrics you don't want to cut up! Students may bring their own fabrics and make a sample block of each technique—or choose their favorite method and start four blocks for their quilt. The instructor will have kits prepared for the class samples pictured here. Students will have several options.

Students Can Choose:

A. Bring all your own fabric and supplies. Instructor will provide a supply list, templates and patterns for the pieces. No charge.

B. “Circle Around with Tula” American textile designer Tula Pink is known for her beautiful color palette and her mischievous little critters. Choose 9 different animals for your quilt. The kits will include all the background pieces, cut and ready to sew, the fussy-cut circles from the design fabrics, the borders, and the binding all cut for you. You will also get the templates, glue stick, and invisible thread. So you will be ready to sit down and sew! 9-block kit: $36.00.

C. “Circle Around with Charley” American modernist Charley Harper’s whimsical animals are printed on 100% organic cotton poplin fabric. Choose 9 or 16 different animals for your quilt. The kits will include all the background pieces, cut and ready to sew, the fussy-cut circles from the design fabrics, the borders, and the binding all cut for you. You will also get the templates, glue stick, and invisible thread. So you will be ready to sit down and sew! 9-block kit: $36.00 16-block kit: $64.00

Sewing machines will be generously provided by Chestnut Ridge Sewing

Shared cutting mats, rotary cutters and irons will be provided.
